Take Super Coupon Woman’s Pay It Forward Challenge!

Now that Super Coupon Woman has finished the $100,000 donation challenge and still going strong, I came up with a way to keep the Pay It Forward mission going. Take a look at the flyer below and print as many times as you want so you can have it on hand when you are able to Pay It Forward such as leaving some detergent and a roll of quarters in the laundry mat for someone to do laundry free that day. Leave a flyer or two for them so they can do a Pay It Forward act also and pass on the flyer to them and hopefully the flyer keeps going and going.

Super Coupon Woman Has Paid It Forward Over $100,000 To Her Community!

If someone would have of told me 15 years ago that I would start a Pay it Forward mission that would lead to donating over $100,000 to my community, I would have thought they must be talking to someone else. At that time, I was the one needing help, hoping and praying everything would go just right. As single moms, we learn to take things day by day doing whatever we can to make sure our children are happy without them knowing the financial struggles we face every day.

Luckily I had friends that pointed me in the right direction of numberโ€™s I could call to see if they would be able to help with a bill, food, or maybe a little assistance to pay the rent. Sure, most of the times the answer was no, but what a relief it was when I came at just the right time and they said yes!

I must have had a guardian angel to help me make it through those tough years. I was stubborn, I wanted to be able to do this on my own! The problem was my money didnโ€™t seem to stretch far enough. I only had $50.00 left over from child support after rent was paid.

My children tell me they had a great childhood, so I managed to hide things pretty good. I would always look for free things to do, we would go to the library and park a lot!

Things got a little easier financially when they were old enough for me to get a job, but they became more expensive as they turned into pre-teens and needed all the make-up, and money to go to the movies, and more expensive clothes.

I learned how to coupon in late 2008, and I not only saved money in my own budget but soon began to see how Couponing could help me pay it forward to my community as a way to give back for all the help I had received when I so desperately needed it.

I began to ask my friends and family and even the community to donate their unused coupons to the local food pantry so I would be able to get more items to help those in need in my community. I usually get bored with things quickly, so I wanted to keep donating a priority, so I started creating challenges for myself to reach such as donating $500.00 (keep in mind, I am a single mom so money is still tight) then $1,000 which I reached out to the media to hopefully inspire others to donate to their communities with the help of coupons.

My challenges continued to get larger. I challenged myself to donate a $10,000-holiday donation in retail value for $1,500, that I successfully completed and allowed me to donate over 700 gifts to those in need in my community while achieving an 85% Savings! As soon as I completed that one, I immediately came up with challenging myself to donate $50,000 within a year. (Even I thought I might be a little crazy for doing this one.) I started having some financial issues and was going to call it off, but my friends encouraged me to continue to donate and offered to help reach my goal! I was able to collect 33,500 of the $50,000. I decided to finish the challenge in 2016 and celebrate by Paying It Forward with 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to those in need throughout my community. I am proud to say I successfully completed the challenge August 10,2016.

There have been ups and downs since I started donating, but I have truly started a pay it forward movement which I am proud of and will now be sharing it in my upcoming book to be released on Black Friday 2016, I will share my story and teach others how to coupon and save money which will hopefully lead to donating to their communities as well, called โ€œCutting Hunger One Coupon At A Timeโ€ I am Super Coupon Woman, but I need some help filling up the food pantries across the nation Will you be the Super Coupon Woman in your community also?

It was not that important, I just wanted them to get the Register Rewards..Just changed my game plan a little. Second things that went wrong, I spent hours getting a list of free items available at Dollar Tree, but when I got there…they had none of the items! I have one more store to check out, just remember when checking the blogs, they may not always be accurate or your store match up with theirs (this goes for all stores, not just Dollar Tree) Have a backup game plan or be prepared to change thing up if things don’t go as expected.

P.S. I get back and there is a $5.00 off $15.00 in my email…Seriously? Looks like I will be making a trip on Sunday…Hoping for low OOP ๐Ÿ™‚

Super Coupon Woman Hit Hard By Devastating Events

Hi Everyone,

I have not been able to write this post until today, and still having a hard time writing it. I was hoping for an easier year in 2016 since I have a rough couple of years financially, but it seems this is not to be. On Saturday May 28th, Jim called me to let me know that the business we owned together caught on fire. The fire spread very quickly and nothing could be saved. We believe that the fire started due to an electrical malfunction.

This is our busy season which makes this event even more harder to deal with because we were already on a tight schedule to get orders out. We had one Gazebo finished that got destroyed in the fire and the materials for the next gazebo also.

We are hoping to get back on our feet as quickly as possible to get everyone’s Gazebos to them in a timely manner.

We had just started recovering from the two Wylie Hail storms from April where our house and cars got damaged, my daughter’s car got destroyed and she did not have full coverage.

Though these events may have my spirits down, I will continue to Pay It Forward as soon as I can recover and things return to normal. I like to help others, not receive help! I am writing a book to be released on Black Friday 2016 that explains that part of paying it forward is being able to accept help when others offer. Any donation that will help us get back on our feet is appreciated, and you know Super Coupon Woman will continue to Pay It Forward to others as always. I am only $2,000 away from officially hitting $100,000 in Donations!

Thank you,

Tina & James Klein

Knocking Down Debt

So with all the financial issues over the past few years, I am going to work on getting my debt down, and start saving some money. Hopefully 2016 will allow me to get on the right track. So here I will list my bills each month and what my current debt is…

I have a strange living arrangement where my ex and I are roommates, (strictly though some find that hard to believe) Long story of how it happened, but it is better financially.

He Pays:

Rent: 950.00
Cell: 400.00 (5 people total on plan)

Total 1,350.00

I Pay:

Insurance: 400.00 (two cars which include my 20 year old daughter, my way of helping her save for college)
Cable: 180.00
Water: 100.00
Gas: 100.00
Electric: 300.00
Car: 357.00

Total: 1,537.00

Outstanding Debt:

Rise Loan that I took out to help my daughter:
2,000 will have an added 500.00 to my bills until May unless I can get it paid off sooner (hopefully)

Borrowed Money from my car problems

My Mom: Borrowed $2,000 Currently owe: $750.00
My Daughter: $1,500.00 Currently owe: $1,400.00

Credit Card Debts:

First Savings: 350.00
Legacy : 350.00
Merrick : 900.00
Capital 1 : 500.00
Capital 1 : 500.00
Victoria S : 300.00
Kohl’s : 300.00
BOA : 500.00

Total: :3,700.00
Total Debt :7,100.00

I make roughly $500 a week, sometimes more, my goal is to pay these debts down, save up an emergency fund, and earn or save an extra $2,000 this year by mystery shopping ect. I am doing 2 envelopes for the 52 week challenge, …I am still trying to get back on track ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t pay it forward as much until I get this knocked down, Of course this is my motivation!

Update as of June 2,2016
First Savings: 250.00
Merrick : 800.00
Capital 1 : 300.00
Capital 1 : 400.00
Victoria S : 250.00
Kohl’s : 150.00
BOA : 400.00
Legacy : 250.00

Total: :2,812.00

My Daughter: 900.00
Rise Loan: 0.00 Paid ๐Ÿ™‚
My Mom: 500.00
Fingerhut: 250.00
Total: 1,650.00

Total Debt: 4,462.00
Total Debt Paid down So Far: 2,638.00

Update: End of February Debt: 6,226.00 ~Hope to see a big difference at the end of March…Slow and Steady Gets the job done!U
Update: End of March Debt: 6,533.00~ Actually took a step backwards, but that is why keeping track is good so you can see this…I bought my daughter a TV from Fingerhut for $350.00 and bought myself some clothes since I have not bought hardly anything for myself in over two years, so my credit cards stayed the same or higher. I will try to knock it down in the next few months, but did pay some stuff down. I have changed the totals to be current.
Update: End of April Debt: 5,212.00 Really made some progress this month! Got the loan paid off which will free up more money to get the credit cards down! Like the little engine that could..finally I see a little progress!
Update: End Of May Debt: 4,662.00 I am loving seeing the numbers go down! Can’t wait until some of these credit cards have 0.00 balance, and I have all my other debts caught up and can focus on saving ๐Ÿ™‚

Update for October: Unfortunately my debt went back up after the fire after all the stress I have endured, I decided to take a vacation, and all the hard work of paying down my debt was lost. I will start another post in January, and hopefully get back on track and stay on track :/. After such a big devastation, it’s only natural we will struggle financially for awhile.
